God in Psalms 23

  • The Lord is my Shepherd (That’s Relationship!)
  • I shall not want (That’s Supply!)
  • He maketh me to lie down in green pastures (That’s Rest!)
  • He leadeth me beside the still waters (That’s Refreshment!)
  • He restoreth my soul (That’s Healing!)
  • He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness (That’s Guidance!)
  • For His name’s sake (That’s Purpose!)
  • Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death (That’s Testing!)
  • I will fear no evil (That’s Protection!)
  • For Thou art with me (That’s Faithfulness!)
  • Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me (That’s Discipline!)
  • Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies (That’s Hope!)
  • Thou annointest my head with oil (That’s Consecration!)
  • My cup runneth over (That’s Abundance!)
  • Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life (That’s Blessing!)
  • And I will dwell in the house of the Lord (That’s Security!)
  • Forever (That’s Eternity!)

After reading this poignant Psalm, do we as God’s children ever need to question His love, care and concern for us?

Brotherly Love Will Cause us to . . .

2) Prefer one another – Romans 12:10; 1 Corinthians 10:33.

3) Forgive one another – Colossians 3:13-14.

4) Bear one another’s burdens – Gal. 6:1,2.

5) Take care not to offend – 1 Corinthians 10:32-33.

6) Restore one another in the spirit of meekness – Gal. 6:1.

7) Show compassion – 1 John 3:17-18.

8) Stir up love and good works in brethren – Hebrews 10:24.

9) Avoid harsh judgments and criticisms – Matthew 7:1-2.

10) Receive a brother until he is stronger – Romans 14:1.

11) Avoid envy – 1 Corinthians 3:4.

12) Be kind and tenderhearted – Ephesians 4:32.

13) Avoid evil speaking – James 4:11.

14) Shun acts of vengeance and jealousy – 1 Peter 3:9.

15) Stay clear of all frictions and strife, if possible – Romans 14:18-19.

Hebrews reads to a people who have taken their eyes off of the prize. The writer threw them a lifeline with this book as an exhortation to remain faithful, to hang in there. The sum way they accomplish this is by keeping their eyes focused on Jesus, listening intently to His message the Father (Heb. 1:1-4; 12:1-3). At the last chapter of the book, the writer gives some very practical commands for these people to keep their eyes on Jesus. Of note, is the command given in Hebrews 13:15,
